Interpacific Investors Services, Inc. (IIS) was founded and capitalized in 1970 by Mr. Ralph Stuart and sixty-five associated representatives who left Waddell & Reed to form IIS. Throughout much of the 1970s many registered representatives who knew of Mr. Stuart joined him, and IIS had significant growth.

Mr. Stuart's investment philosophy of contrarian investing in distressed asset backed corporate and municipal (utility and airline) bonds scored many successful investment results for IIS customers. Mr. Stuart's continued to manage IIS until his retirement in February of 1991 (at 81 years of age) after twenty-one years of service to IIS, its customers, employees and registered representatives.

In 1991 the Board of Directors of IIS made the decision to bring a new management team which would design a business plan for growth of the firm primarily through recruitment of new representatives, introduction of new technology, improved communications systems, efficiencies and improvement of home office administrative, clerical and trading operations to provide improved service to IIS customers and registered representatives.

IIS today has approximately 20 registered representatives licensed in the states of Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, Arizona, Texas, North Carolina and Georgia. Most of our representatives either operate out of their home, small individual office or are affiliated with a Regional Manager who supervises them, and may provide office space. IIS is a very conservative firm in its nature; fixed income and equity Mutual Funds represents about forty-five percent of our business with principal transactions from our own inventory of corporate and municipal bonds comprising the balance. Individual equities and insurance represent a very small, but growing, portion of our current revenues.

IIS has, for the last 39 years, believed in a simple, yet effective strategy of investing in corporate, municipal bonds and fixed income mutual funds for income, and investing for the long term in good quality, growth (equity) mutual funds for capital appreciation. We have seen the results of our investment recommendations in the many success stories of our clients over the years.

While IIS is excited to share its story to all, and is very pleased with the growth our firm is experiencing, we don’t forget our roots. Discipline in investing and providing value added service to our customers is the key to success over time. IIS has the experience of seeing our discipline be successful for over 40 years.
